Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Mindfulness

My practice is based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) together with Mindfulness 
training. These practical tools are simple yet transformative. They can help you:

  • Overcome feelings of depression, fear, worry and other unwanted emotional distress signals.

  • Successfully address the underlying aspects of our past that cause addictive behaviours

  • Work with mind-body connection to create calm, happiness, joy and love in our lives

  • Deepen your relationships and strengthen or mend your connections to the people in your life that matter

  • Treat anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and also eating, sleep and body image issues

Through mindfulness, we begin to observe our thoughts and feelings and to accept them simply for what they are: thoughts and emotions that will pass in time. Mindfulness techniques have the power to penetrate all areas of our lives – from how we eat, to our very sense of presence within. These are powerful tools that allow us to live in the present moment without past or future projections that cause anxiety, fear, regrets etc.

 

Cognitive-behavioural therapy in turn perfectly complements a solid mindfulness practice. By learning how to recognize our thoughts as a source of anxiety and stress, we are able to find out what type of learned false thought patterns we are giving into. This will, at the end, change our behaviour. We are able to use results-based strategies, developing the capacity to move beyond the limits that may have constrained us from living with compassion and joy.

Lifestyle Development

I have designed this 10-step approach to lifestyle changes that involves fine-tuning your lifestyle and making small changes to your habits that will lead to big changes over time! The 10 steps of the program develop your soul, body and mind.


Step 1: Become Who You Are

If you ever had a soul mate who left you, you know what I mean when I say this: They represent all the elements within you, inside of your soul, that yearn to be released free. He or she has the representative markings of who you are, inside. We will develop these areas together, so that you will become whole, without someone else filling in the gaps – which, by the way, will make you magnetic to others!

 

Step 2:  Hope

During this step, we explore feelings of hope.  

Hope in one’s life is crucial;  We all need hope to survive. When hope is lost, we may succumb to physical ailments such as headaches, other stress-related symptoms, gastro intestinal disturbances, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, mental fogginess, or depression, sadness, anxiety and despair. Therefore it is important to take the time to realize the abundance life has to offer as losing all hope can bring destruction of our physique and mental healths.  This step is ultimately what I like to call the, “Life Saver Week”.  We gain wisdom and abundance by changing our thoughts about ourselves as well as the world and what it can offer us.



Step 3: Service

Everyone thrives when taking the time to serve others. It is a metaphysical truth. When we give, we receive. This module’s focus is to find the areas you are meant to provide service and thrive!

Step 4: Your Passions

When we work in something that gives us joy, fulfilment and purpose,  we thrive naturally. For example, if your passion is the love of work in healthcare, there is something about this line of work that gives you your specific purpose on Earth. Let’s hone in together on your passions. The very purpose in your work and find the elements at the core that let your heart sing.

Step 5: Soul and Spirit

We all live in a world of purpose-driven activities. But holistic health needs to have a soul-spiritual practice. This is accomplished by finding your version of God – is it nature, or something else? Together we revive your spirituality and find ways to incorporate a healthy practice you love into your lifestyle. 


Step 6: Compassion & Love
 

When we heal, remarkably, we will attract others in a natural way into our lives. When you have a purpose, you become magnetic, when you are whole and loving you will find peace within too. We focus in this module on your ideal lifestyle and once done, you will feel more ready to find a partner if you are single, that matches it! For married folks, this is a “together” module where you both seek to adapt to these choices and find common ground!

Steps 7-9: Wellness 


This three-part module focuses on wellness:

  1. Finding your heart centre. What gets you skipping happily to a workout session or an activity? What type of things do you love to do?

  2. What are your dearest hopes? When we itemize all things wellness we find a pattern. Let’s apply it now!

  3. There is no failure! When we “fall off the wagon” we climb back on again! The act of repetition is the master of continuous improvement. We can’t fail. We are invincible!

 

Step 10: Completion
 

Take a look at yourself now and know that you have the best possible life ahead of you. You may have changed careers, found a new area to live in, found a soulmate, updated your style, got fit, found new friends, adopted a pet or got married. The possibilities are all there.
